Why Our Customers move with Northern American Van Lines

Gail Abrahams, Relocation Coordinator, TIO Marketing, Phoenix AZ
Ok I'm not so objective because it is the fifth time that I'm using Northern American Van Lines but I stopped taking it for granted – they are always on time....

Auto Transport

If you are making a long distance, interstate, or international move, you most likely will need to ship your vehicle(s) to your new destination.

For international moves, it is a good idea to do some research before deciding to take your vehicle with you. Check to see what laws your arriving country governs regarding imported vehicles. You may be required to change certain parts of your vehicle to meet standards. You may be charged a hefty tax for importing your vehicle. The information you find may change your decision to bring your vehicle with you.

The cost of your shipment will partially depend on the size of your vehicle, so make sure you provide accurate measurements when getting an estimate.

Once you have decided to ship your vehicle, make sure it is cleaned (inside and out) prior to shipping. This will allow you to accurately assess its condition. It is also a good idea to take pictures and date them before you ship your vehicle, for insurance purposes. In fact, you may want to contact your insurance provider to review what is and what is not covered in the event of damage.

Make sure that all personal items are removed from your vehicle and that here are no loose items. Anything that is not secured to your vehicle could move around during transport and cause damage to your car’s interior. You will also want to make sure that any valuables are not in your vehicle as these items will not be insured.

You should remove any aftermarket parts, such as fog lights and roof racks. You will want to deactivate the car alarm and you may be asked to leave the gas tank less than half full. Stickers and decals are generally okay to leave on the vehicle.
